All Hallows Day

The neighborhood kids have come up with their own tradition for our street.

Nov 1st is now "All Hallows Day". Which after spectating the activities, is basically pumpkin smashing!!! Lance started by offering his pumpkin first and it went from there. Thank you Lance.

Jack might owe Riley a new shirt. And sorry neighbors, next year you might find a fat pumpkin growing on your parkstrip!

Message from Jack

Hello blog world. How is everyone doing? The reason why I'm posting on my Mom's blog is for the Communications Merit Badge. Anyway, I just wanted to say "hi". Also, if any of your boys are reading my Mom's blog like I do, I just want to encourage them to get there Eagle Scout Award. I know how much boy scouting has helped me in my life and I want the boys to know that it will help them too.

A MESSAGE FROM JACK (ALSO KNOWN FROM GAVIN AND HIS FAMILY, AS "DEBO")

Scare your pants right off!

It's okay......Just sit an laugh for a bit......Go on.

Okay ready to read further? Ready to ask your question? Is that Jerry??? Or a very ugly sister??? It's Jerry!! He dared Tom next door to go as a girl with him for Halloween (Jerry's really surprising me these days). Neither is the costume type. In fact Lynn said Tom has never dressed up for Halloween before...ever. Yeah, why not dress up for the first time as a "girl"! We went to DI and picked out a horrid dress that I felt would match the black wig. And then size 10 women heels. Black hoes from Walmart and jewelry from my box. He did his own nails and then we had a makeup (and crackup) party at my house. I'd have to say Tom has very nice skin. And Jerry, very long lashes. Hey, I think the make up turned out pretty good, considering what we had to work with!
Dana helped with Hank's Joker makeup and then put on her own. He was Joker from Batman and Dana and her friend Jessie were bums. Jack decided he should stay home and hand out candy this year. Eat one...hand one out...eat one...hand one out.

Princess's, Megan Aurora and Mya Snow White. They came and were "beautified" at the Harrells too.

Imagine this walking down your street! Now that's Halloween! We entertained all night and had some big laughs.
And now..........the big scary movie!!!!!! Screeeeeam!

Mummified!

Mummy Pizzas. Who knew Mummies had "red" blood. I'd have thought they were all dried out.

I've been in Webelos for years and I finally Got Hank in my den. He already has his Webelo, Arrow of Light and now has two months to "wrap" up his last few activity badges to get ALL 20! and then on to the 11 year old scouts! Way to go Hank!

Cook-Off...tied for 2nd

October means Winter Wheat Chili-Cook off. Another year to maybe win the coveted title. Jerry entered his white chicken chili this year and again we came in second (tied with Lynne). We even tried to entice the kid vote with tortilla chips and grated cheese. No go. Matt was our big winner. CONGRATS! You kicked our beans!

We created a new event this year...cornbread! I should have known better to just have Megan's name written on every award. She was our chili winner last year and this year took home the "Wicked Cornbread Award".
The Dobson's offered their garage for chili tasting. That Costco table has sure paid for itself . Oh, and the mustard yellow-orange table cloths I got at D.I., I use them every year. Toss them on a table for Halloween and then a few weeks later for Thanksgiving. Ugly on their own, but look good under a pumpkin pie. In a few years I'll probablly hear the kids say something like "and remember Mom's old ugly orange table cloths!"
Dana always has to bring her own playmates to our parties. All the other kids have someone (or some"three") to play with. Christina fits perfect!
The Newcombs always enter a favored chili entry!
Free "hayless"rides.Cute Mya held true to her cupcake tasting job. She concluded they were ALL WINNERS! And I can honestly say she tasted them ALL! Sorry everyone, we'll lock them down next year. Paybacks Christina!!!
No this is not a costume!...He REALLY is this cute!!!! Cutie Kade!
Gavin comes from a football lovin' family but Jack helped him get his "hoop on"!
Riley and McKenna decorated a "pretty pumpkin". Is that a scrunchie???
This is one dead pumpkin Hank.
THANKS NEIGHBORS AND FRIENDS! HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
