Lagoon after Disneyland.....now is that even possible? How much fun is that going to be? No Pinocchio. No Tower of Terror. No shrubs carved into swans. No endless seaching for a Braer Rabbit Pin (Not available anymore so don't even look! You can get a Braer Rabbit punched penny though, after you get off Splash Mountain. The one where you stick in a perfectly good penny and 50 cents, crank the crank and get out a penny, destined to be your favorite souvenir). In January we had been treated to the most awesome vacation to Disneyland. The first time for Jerry and the kids. And we had the best time. Perfection. Now standing in front of Lagoon, we didn't even know if it was worth walking through the gates. Lagoon doesn't even has a mascot does it? Maybe a swamp creature thing with seaweed hanging from its hair, a croaking bullfrog? ...Anything?
In we went, and I am here to tell you...no Magical Kingdon, but not too shabby. All in all a great evening. We went with our dearest friends the Nielsens, the very same friends who had taken us to Disneyland. They still had the desire to ride a rickety old wood roller coaster and so did we. Jack and Dana looked like best buddies. I had to blink twice. Dana tempted the water fountain and within ten minutes of getting there, she was soaked. Hank was very brave this year and Jerry was up for anything. Thank goodness, someone had to go on The Spider with Hank. He rode it four times!
Here's a picture of Jack and Stephen (below) on that spinny thing. The one that turns the lights off and rocks out to music. The one that pulls you to the outside edge. See....now you know what one I'm talking about. Cool picture huh?
Lagoon after Disneyland? Sure. I'll just take my penny with me.

Thanks for the gift, kids
Ask any of my kids what I want for Christmas or any other holiday, birthday, Mother's Day or just any day, and they will say, eyes rolling, "PEACE, all you want is PEACE." Jewelry's nice but peace.....ahhh.....that is a gift of love. Easy, cheap, a gift that says...I care. And when all three of your kids give it to you at once, well that's one great gift.
And so I was gifted this week. I needed the car washed and they washed it. Sparkly clean! ***AND NOT ONE FIGHT*** Smiles all around. Clean car...nice gift. Peace while they do it...priceless. Now if they can just ride in it without fighting over the front seat!
Best gift EVER! Thanks Kids. I love you too!

Dog house for Macy
June this year we got our dog Macy. Macy Gray. Now in the privacy of our home she is our little girl, our baby, Macy Mace, lovie, sweetheart. All that cutesie talk that you just can't help yourself from saying. We had always wanted a dog but renting never allowed for one. We've done the hamster (died), hamster (died) and yet again hamster (died) thing, and turtles ...that I made us give back the pet store because their bowl, bucket kept getting flipped over, and I kept making the kids wash their hands if even if they just looked at them (salmonella). Then a few years ago we moved into this home were we've practiced for our dog with our two kitties. Awesome in every way but not quite like a dog. Three years later the fence and grass arrived (that sounds like UPS just drove up to the house and pullled a red string on the side of the pkg and voila! It was long hard work!) and we were now ready. We visited a few shelters, fell in love with every last one, except for the droolers, almost got the completely wrong dog (phew) and then found her. She is a one year Black Lab/ Heeler mix. She is a sweet dog with lots of energy. Loves to fetch a ball and chase a laser. In fact if you say "dot", or for that matter "hot", she stands at attention ready to catch the little red light nemesis....must-catch-the light. She barks at the doorbell, doesn't like the neighbor's dogs and has even snipped (again we're sorry). So not a perfect dog, but perfect for us.
Jerry's mom gifted us this old dog house and Hank and Jerry went to work to get it ready for Macy. It has double thick carpet and a doggie door to keep out the wind. Yeah, she's spoiled. She prefers any and every bed, but the dog house will have to do during the day. And hey, if she doesn't use it.....the cat will!

Hooping it up
Jack and his buddy Trent happened on some PVC pipe and made a couple of ginormous hoola hoops. Ahhhh the creative 12 year old mind.
Hours of fun!
