Dog house for Macy

June this year we got our dog Macy. Macy Gray. Now in the privacy of our home she is our little girl, our baby, Macy Mace, lovie, sweetheart. All that cutesie talk that you just can't help yourself from saying. We had always wanted a dog but renting never allowed for one. We've done the hamster (died), hamster (died) and yet again hamster (died) thing, and turtles ...that I made us give back the pet store because their bowl, bucket kept getting flipped over, and I kept making the kids wash their hands if even if they just looked at them (salmonella). Then a few years ago we moved into this home were we've practiced for our dog with our two kitties. Awesome in every way but not quite like a dog. Three years later the fence and grass arrived (that sounds like UPS just drove up to the house and pullled a red string on the side of the pkg and voila! It was long hard work!) and we were now ready. We visited a few shelters, fell in love with every last one, except for the droolers, almost got the completely wrong dog (phew) and then found her. She is a one year Black Lab/ Heeler mix. She is a sweet dog with lots of energy. Loves to fetch a ball and chase a laser. In fact if you say "dot", or for that matter "hot", she stands at attention ready to catch the little red light nemesis....must-catch-the light. She barks at the doorbell, doesn't like the neighbor's dogs and has even snipped (again we're sorry). So not a perfect dog, but perfect for us.

Jerry's mom gifted us this old dog house and Hank and Jerry went to work to get it ready for Macy. It has double thick carpet and a doggie door to keep out the wind. Yeah, she's spoiled. She prefers any and every bed, but the dog house will have to do during the day. And hey, if she doesn't use it.....the cat will!

Hey, you just gotta love that cat!
She gave me a laugh at the end of a very long tiring day. Just what I needed!

Love you all,
Grandma Valentine
