(Mar 09) Well, the streak is definatley broken. After a long dry spell, Jack heads back to the hospital. If you remeber he hadn't been to the hospital since he was about six. A nice streak of good health and a non-burden to the insuance company. Then last year, while visiting Eric in Colorado, he spliced his toe open. I thought it was just a fluke and Jack would be back to his good fortune. But now I am sure..... the streak is over.
We took him back to the hospital in March. Infact, he went first to InstaCare and then over to the hospital (why have one bill when you can have two). He had gone to a Boy Scout campout over at Five Mile Pass and had woke up that morning to a very high fever. He had gone ahead and tried to jog that morning (my crazy son) but stopped soon after. He went to his tent and was shivering and complaining he had a huge headace and his back hurt. They called us and told us they were bringing him home. The scout leader mentioned menangitis and it was in the back of my head too. We took him to InstaCare and the doctor was concerned. He ran a series of tests that made him believe it wasn't menangitis. After taking a Flu test, he said he didn't think it was that either. At that point he said we better go to the hospital to make sure.
After a couple hours at the hospital, it was decided it must be a virus or indeed a flu. By the next day he was feeling so much better. And his mom and dad were so much happier! No more hospitals, PLEASE!
